Meet the Staff
Director Olivia Aylmer (BC ’15), a New Yorker at heart, could not live without her planner. She’s still in search of the most perfect cupcake the city has to offer, and secretly wishes she had red hair like Florence Welch. When she’s not blogging for Hoot, she’s updating her own blog, livagracefullife.tumblr.com.
Director Esther Jung (BC ’15), is happiest with a camera in hand. She enjoys munching on macaroons, scoring great deals at sample sales, and documenting her life in photos, which can be seen on her photography blog, estherj.tumblr.com.
Contributor Lydia Ding (CC ’13), is a sucker for Starbucks iced coffee, lame jokes, and inky black mascara. She has a soft spot for larger-than-life animals, and strongly believes that a pair of pointy black patent pumps (minus the pain) makes any outfit better.
Contributor Angel Jiang (CC ’15), a high-heeled hiker of the metropolis, loves hot sauce and crop tops. She is most comfortable in heels, but appreciates a solid pair of pumped up kicks. You will never see her without her bunny eared iPhone.
Contributor Krista Anna Lewis (BC ’15) is a committed vegan who loves a good soy chai or cappuccino. She’s never without some Alexander Wang, even if the shoes’ll make her feet bleed, and can sometimes be seen creeping at the flagship store in SoHo on the weekends. Often, you can find her snapping some pictures in good old fashion 35mm for her blog, the-velveteenstranger.tumblr.
Photographer Shriya Manian (SEAS ’15), tends to find herself rummaging through her brother’s and father’s closets, as seen on her blog, teengirlteenboy.tumblr.com. She has a penchant for anything DIY, and can easily be won over with a grilled cheese sandwich and milkshake.
Contributor Emma Goss (BC ’15), loves to explore the city’s film, art, and history scene when she’s not in class or writing articles. Her favorite spot? Three Lives & Company Bookstore in Greenwich Village. Emma also serves as the Barnard Beat Chief for the Columbia Daily Spectator, an A&E writer for Hoot, and a Huffington Post blogger.
